I am the embodiment of compassion, love and respect for all animals and the environments in which they live, and strive to do all I can to make a difference in the world. I don't understand abuse in any form, including turning a blinds eye to obvious neglect and feel compelled to stop it anyway I can. I feel the more knowledge I garner the more I can impart and help. I am an avid reader and am communicative and spiritual by nature. When overwhelmed with emotion, hearing the cries of MoonBears in cramped, tiny cages in Asia with rusty syringes sticking out of their gall bladders, or images embedded in my minds eye of gorillas hands being sold in markets in Africa as ashtrays knowing they had to pull the suckling infant screaming from its mother's teet as the poachers slaughtered her mother, poetry comes pouring out onto blank pages depicting images that I read about and feel helpless to overcome. My emotions run deep and I shiver thinking that parents are bringing their children to dog fight's and circuses as if they were puppet shows teaching that violence is a positive attribute and hiding behind a tent of torture with bloody bull hooks and chains is AOK! I am filled with passion and purple, and art and music move me and humor soothes me.
I have the heart of a philanthropist but need to work to earn a living, so I sell Toyotas to keep a roof over my head and my family, which consist of fur, feather, and fins. On May 19th 2007 I lost Julia, my 8yr.old "dog-daughter", Pitt mix, to Cushings Disease, who left this earth with my heart. But Joey, Timmy, Jack, and Darla, keep me going and remind me I am still a mother. We are all learning to breath again and they are my solace.
I am a co-host the 1st Saturday of the month on a radio show called Talkin Pets. The show is hosted by my dearest friend Jon Patch, who started the show 18 yrs. ago and has dedicated his life to making it the best animal radio show on the air. The 3 hr. live show is filled with education, information, and fun filled trivia, with callers from across the country asking questions, answering trivia for prizes, and calling with anecdotes about their pets. Jon and I, and of course Bobby the producer, have a blast! Talkin Pets affords me the opportunity to help educate 1,000's of listeners on various animal related topics and issues and I thank Jon, Bobby and Amanda, for their dedication to the show and allowing me the forum to express the knowledge I have gained over the years and the information and education I am continuously learning with regards to animals. It is my greatest passion to help save as many animals as I can, in any way that I can, and I will always be a voice for those who cannot speak."Only if we understand, can we care
