8.7.08Avenue Pictures update:With so much going on at the Nebraska Film Group, I have been slow to update the latest with what’s been going on with Avenue Pictures.Ulterior Motives is awaiting a small round of editing to remove about 15 minutes of film thus making it more appealing to prospective buyers. We have some feelers out now and although very sellable in its current running time, one such distributor may become a little more interested if scaled back.Both Ulterior Motives and Unconditional made their debut at the Omaha Film Festival in February 08 and seemed to be received quite well.Right now, we are waiting to hear back from a few other festivals whether or not they will be accepted for screenings.If there is time this fall,We would like to shoot at least one of the two short films written by Derek Baker. Time will tell!Avenue Pictures is still working on the feature film “Arcane” At this time, we are regrouping in lieu of some significant changes in script, direction and an explosion in production value. (more on that later)Sometime,mid October, We will be shooting various compilations of the film “Arcane” both in Omaha and Los Angeles to be used as a trailer/treatment. With new and exciting developments in the recent months, we will be looking to expand our existing budget and are confident that we can reach our new goal.At this time, we have only cast a few of the roles and more auditions will be held in the future. Callbacks from the auditions past will occur at roughly the same time. Due to the nature of this business and time constraints that have fallen upon us- we have been slow moving with this feature. Good things come to those who wait,great things come to those who take the time to do it right!In other great news, Avenue Pictures very own, Derek Baker has signed on to produce the feature film “Arrival on Departure” This story by Director Jeff Burton from FilmWest Motion Pictures Productions,will be filmed in association with Avenue Pictures. We are excited to be involved with this production and we are already in pre-production.Director Jeff Burton has secured and will be shooting this feature on the coveted (RED CAMERA) other films shot on the Red include, Wanted,Jumper,Crossing the Line and others. This will be a breakthrough in possibilities to be using this camera. Most of the crew on this project I know and have worked with several times and are the best around.
