I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm addicted to what I like to refer to as "Sunset Strip Metal". Go ahead laugh if you will, but in my opinion, there is no better music out there & I'm not ashamed to admit it. The Hollywood music scene of the 1980's intrigues me & if I could take a trip back in time, it would certainly be to the Sunset Strip circa 1988. If you know me, then you know that I am one of the most knowledgeable & loyal fans of this genre of music. Everyone knows bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Ratt, Warrant, Cinderella, etc. but how many of you know about great bands like Lillian Axe, Hardline, Black 'N Blue, Rough Cutt, Brighton Rock, Killer Dwarfs, Jetboy, Wildside, Funny Money, Vain, Pyn Siren, etc? Those bands had some success but nowhere near what they deserved. There are many bands & artists that I have discovered in recent years that I refer to as hidden gems. Those are a few of my favorites, but there are many more. I am fortunate to have what may be the largest private cd collection specializing in "Sunset Strip Metal". I've lost count but I would guess I have around 5000 cd's comprised of many rare & out of print discs not to mention over 2000 of them are autographed by some legendary musicians like Dimebag Darrell, Rob Halford, Slash, Ronnie James Dio, Sebastian Bach, Paul Rodgers, Mick Jones, C.C. DeVille, Stephen Pearcy, Jani Lane, Lemmy Kilmister, Kevin Dubrow, Jason Bonham, Tracii Guns, Steven Adler, Warren DeMartini, Doro Pesch, & the list goes on & on. I have also been fortunate enough to develop friendships with greats like Jeff Pilson (Dokken/Foreigner), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt/Quiet Riot), Alan Krigger (Ike & Tina Turner/Giuffria/London), Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio), Chas West (Jason Bonham Band), Jimmy Bain (Rainbow/Dio), Dean Cramer (Funny Money/Goodbye Thrill), Sean McNabb (Great White/Quiet Riot), Ralph Saenz (Steel Panther/Atomic Punks/L.A. Guns), Russ Parrish (Fight/War & Peace/Steel Panther), Joe Lester (Atomic Punks/California), Mark Schenker (Kix/Funny Money), Chad Stewart (L.A. Guns/Faster Pussycat), Stevie Rachelle (Tuff/Motley Priest), etc. These are just a few of my friends who have put me on countless guestlists, given me cd's, shirts, etc. If it wasn't enough that they played on some of my favorite songs & cd's, they continue to go out of their way to make me feel like their #1 fan. Please support these hard working musicians by purchasing their cd's & shirts or going to see them live in concert. Many of them are just trying to make an honest living after being ripped off by the industry that made them famous then kicked them to the curb. The scene will never be what it was, but I'm doing my part at keeping the torch lit!
