The Southbound Sessions now enjoys its status as one of Edinburgh's leading acoustic nights, featuring three of Edinburgh's finest young talents - Simon Kempston, Steven Carey & Andrew R. Hill. The sessions were currently enjoying a regular monthly slot upon the last Sunday of every month at one of Edinburgh's finest venues, The Village. This hidden gem of a public house can be found in Leith, near the bottom of Ferry Road, and is rapidly establishing a reputation for hosting great live music.The Southbound Sessions have featured at both the programmes of the Leith Festival and the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and 2008, luminaries and legends such as Martin Stephenson and Hayseed Dixie appeared as part of a seven night run to sell-out crowds. The Edinburgh Fringe Programme 2007 and 2008 also brought together the cream of the talent from the Central Belt's burgeoning acoustic scene.The Sessions are now taking a well-earned break after providing a gracefully high standard of live acoustic music in Edinburgh for two years although will return at some point in the future with a possible expansion to a fortnightly night or an offshoot night in another venue.If you would like to play at the Southbound Sessions, send us a message through myspace indicating as such.
