9 to 5 is an art exhibition which was held from 8-15 September last year at the Zion Arts Gallery Hulme, Manchester.
Inspired by artists who work in non art jobs to make ends meet, 9 to 5 explores the relationship artists have with their everyday work and investigates the symbiotic nature of thoughts and actions. Each individual’s personal response to their working environment is processed into a piece of art work, thus bringing the two aspects of their working life together.With art disciplines ranging from paint and sculpture to musical and conceptual works, the artists use a variety of materials and each come from very different employment backgrounds. The exhibition includes wage earners ranging from librarians and bankers to receptionists and shop assistants.Artists include:

Stephanie BerginThis exhibition has been curated by Gemma Parker and Marie Bergin. Since completing a BA in Interactive Arts and MA in Communication Design at Manchester Metropolitan University Gemma has been a practising artist and exhibited throughout Manchester and the Northwest.
