About Me

> The truly important thing is that the Martinez Bros. love music. Music moves them, and in turn they set out to move people with music. The Martinez Bros. consist of Danny Boy and B-boy Steve. They have been influenced by many a artist and or DJ. While proclaiming themselves as young and still developing, they carry themselves as a force to be reckoned with. They have, and continue to pay dues searching for records, playing in dingy bars, mainstream nightclubs, and staying up-to-date with the classic music of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The ultimate goal for the Bros. is to be able to play freely in a world of pre-formatted programming. They have nothing against the next DJ who aims to please the commercial crowd; it has been their duty to do it as well. For this very reason, the Martinez Bros. continue to hold on to their day jobs-so that they can use whatever free time they have to spin and possibly create music that moves them inside. A bit esoteric? Maybe or maybe not, but just buy them a beer and everything will be OK.PS.They are nasty on the dancefloor. Ax somebody.

Influences: There are so many influences in our lives. To recognize them all on one page would be impossible. First of all in life: The Mamas Dukes, Pa Dukes, The carnales, Monique, Sol, Lil Danny, and Familia and close friends overall. Obviously all of the Originators and creators of anything we like and live. MORE T.B.A.Musically: This is where it gets saturated, so I will name categories only. Soul, Soul Ballads aka Cholo Oldies, Funk (Raw, Clean, Rare, Common, P-Funk, White Funk, whatever), Disco, House, Garage, Rock, NY Punk Funk, New Wave, Salsa, Descarga, Cumbia, Latin Jazz, Jazz(straight foward, Black Jazz, Blue Note, etc), Fused Jazz, Prog Rock, anything we feel moves us.
