THE BIOGRAPHY OF LESHA RUTH ROSE
A Rose has blossomed into a bouquet of delightful, delectable, mellifluous sounds, appealing to the appetites of the very young to the very old. Her contemporary R&B/ Pop style has left audiences wanting more… She hails from Trinidad & Tobago and has hit the shores of America with one objective in mind, to be the ultimate singing sensation. It goes without saying that her 5-octave range will be one to contend with. Hearing her is more of an experience rather than just lending an ear to another vocalist. Her passion for singing and performing is unparalleled and her beauty is captivating to her audience, as she mesmerizes them and puts them in a trance, healing their broken hearts. Her songs portray a diligent, intellectual, vivacious, adorable (DIVA) image that really grabs one’s attention. This Caribbean songbird perched on the beautiful island of St.Vincent and the Grenadines, a frequent hideaway for celebrities. There, she started singing at the tender age of two in her parent’s church. It was evident that in her early years, she was ahead of her time because of the advanced song selections she would always perform. During her toddler and adolescent years, Lesha‘s gift opened up more opportunities for her. She was the featured singer on her father’s television program “Encounter” which was televised on SVGtv and throughout the Caribbean. She won numerous talent competitions that earned her special guest appearances on the island’s radio station. She also performed at weddings, church services and conferences, and concerts, one of which was opening for Larnelle Harris. She also sang at her very own high school graduation. One of her greatest accomplishments at the age of 13, was being the youngest singer picked to perform with an all-star group of Caribbean artists at a benefit concert for UNICEF at the “Victoria Park” stadium. After moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lesha’s vision for music escalated as she continued songwriting, and sharpened her vocal skills as the lead singer of “Joseph”, a group comprised of her five sisters. Having unleashed that talent, her creative abilities arose. This led to producing and co-directing her high school spring musical “OKLAHOMA”. On experiencing her artistic talent and hearing her unique voice, she was approached by the founder of the gospel group “Kingdom People” (KP). Being part of KP led to the exposure of a much larger U.S. audience. Their performances ranged from benefits, fundraisers, jazz clubs, fashion and award shows, to local and national concerts, to name a few, with the highlight being, the opening act for Fred Hammond. Lesha was also chosen to be the lead vocalist on one of the tracks on KP’s debut album, “The Journey”, which plays on Urban Christian radio. Lesha’s popularity on the U.S. scene increased even more as a solo artist. Her recent appearances include: performing at a three-day Women’s Conference; singing for the Pittsburgh Pirates; interviewing on WAMO radio; special guest on CTV; and being the sole entertainment at a benefit for Breast Cancer Awareness. Being multilingual, this Caribbean queen truly adds international appeal to her compelling mission. Lesha is ready to take her music to the world so as to help an uncertain and confused generation find purpose and hope, with the ultimate pursuit of effecting change. Are you ready?
