Urban Dread Reggae Band

About Me

Formed in 1988, Urban Dread was the vision of Jason Bourne. His vision was to play postitive cultural music that appealed to all ages and races with an emphasis on making people dance. Jason built the band through local adds in the newspaper and conceptualized a band that could utilize the unity of REGGAE music and appeal to the masses of pop, rock, R&B and hip-hop culture. From the very first show, the packed house danced all night and had a great time...the rest is history. Twenty years later, Urban Dread is L.A.'s busiest reggae crossover band with regular gigs through Southern California and beyond. Throughout the years the members have changed but one thing remains the same: people get their groove on when they see Urban Dread. No doubt about it! This year the band is busier than ever with multiple show days and a variety of new venues. Currently the band is recording new material for release later this year as well.
