Born in Austin, Tx August 6th 1983, Knowledge's love of music led him to be an aspiring DJ at a young age, playing with his parents' 8-tracks and cassette decks. Around 1995, he began recording freestyle and pause mixtapes, all while studing the music of Gangstarr, Wu Tang, Dr Dre, A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, Nas, KRS-One, and Pete Rock and CL Smooth, just to name a few...By 10th grade, Knowledge began djing School dances and basketball games.A visit to New York City for Thanksgiving in 1996 led him to hearing Funkmaster Flex and Dj Premier Live on NYC's Hot 97. Falling in Love with the are of turntablism instantly, he returned home to get started right away. Knowledge's vinyl collection began growing rapidly with classics that were being released at the time such as Group Home, AZ, Nas, Gangstarr, and Common Sense. After learning to scratch basic on his parents turntable, he decided to buy a pair and a mixer in 1996.Around the same time, Knowledge began doing internet radio at The Cut Radio, where he also occasionlly DJ'ed some Afro-Latino Society Parties. This expanded his musical taste into Reggae and more R&B. His recorded collection continued to grow after frequent visits to record stores like MusicMainia, Allien Records, and Turntable Records.In 2002, at the age of 18, Knowledge expanded into rocking nightclubs and parties across the Austin area, including Emos, The Whiskey Bar, Troubudor Saloon, and Antone's. He quickly learned the basics and mentality of rocking clubs, no matter what age crowd.In 2005, after taking several trips to Canada and overseas, Knowledge added the "World Renown" onto his name after returning to Texas. Slowly building his name up, Knowledge introduced himself to show promoter and multimedia mogul Will Hustle of SET4LIFE, in partnership to make the sucsessfull mixtape series WhatAHustler.As Knowledge mix-CDs continued to flood the streets, he also made appearances on KAZI 88.7 and eventually became one of the mixshow DJs for The Shock Wave with Dr J and the Mystery Lady.Currently still residing in Austin, catch Knowledge weekly at the CO-OP Bar(Sundays and Tuesdays) also at the Light Bar(wednesday).EXCLUSIVE LOOK IN SIDE THE LAB WITH B.U.D.
