Tenor Vocalist & Manager
I was born in Tunnel Hill , Ga. over 33 years ago. I am the
youngest of four children and my parents are the Rev. and Mrs.
George and Betty Witt. I will be celebrating my 14th
Anniversary come Jan 22, 2006 to my lovely wife Mira. We
reside in Dalton, Ga with our two children, Kristen is 11 years
old and Gregory, Jr. is 6. My family and I attend
City View Church Of God in Dalton, Ga.
Southern Gospel Music has played a major role in my family
from my early years. When I was just 8 years old I sang with
my family, 'The Witt Family". Being just 8 years old, I had no
idea what part I was singing but I knew that I was enjoying
every minute of it. My brother, Tim, taught me to play the bass
guitar when I was 14 years old. I have played for several
groups including The Trinityaires, The Faithfulaires, Timothy 4
Ministries from Mayfield, Kentucky, Happy Harmony Quartet
from Chattanooga, Tennessee, The Gospelmen Quartet, and
have filled in on many occasions with The Hasty's from Rocky
Face, Ga. I first started singing tenor with Golden Harmony
when I was 19 yrs old and later sang with HeavenSent from
Dalton, Ga for 5 years which also led to me singing tenor for
ReignSong and The Southern Heritage Quartet. Now I'm on my
newest journey, tenor and emcee for Emmaus Road.
Even though I was singing in groups before the age of 17, it
was at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church when I finally
accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as my own Personal Savior.
When I was 18, I strayed from God and he brought me back
with a great testimony. Now I can't think of one thing that I love
doing more than singing for my Lord Jesus Christ. I welcome
the opportunity to spread the word of God by song, and to
share my testimony of how God saved my soul to
anyone....anytime....anywhere!
CHAD SHEPPARD
Baritone Vocalist
I was born in Riverdale, Ga in September of 1979. I was raised
in Morrow, Ga till we moved in '89 to Stockbridge, Ga where I
still live to this day. I have listened to Gospel Music my whole
life. It started with my Great-Granddaddy Reid taking my
Grandmomma Stella to singings, then she took my Dad, and of
course my dad took me. Eight months before I was born my
Dad gave me a "big brother", he started his own quartet. The
Jonesmen Quartet have been a staple in my life and had been a
big part of my walk with Christ. In fall of '87, while at a
Catherdals concert in Boaz, Al, they introduced there newest
song, and it was this song that made me start to think about
who Jesus is, and what all he did for me. The song was
Champion of Love, and in April of '88, I accpected Jesus Christ
as my Lord and Savior. As a human and a sinner I haven't
always walked down the right path that I knew I should, but
Thanks to Christ and his love, he won't ever forget about me, or
turn his back on me. After a couple of years of doing those
wrong and bad things, three years ago I came back to the
Relationship with Christ (that never ended, I just turn my back
on him). He called me the church I attendend, Harvest Bapstist
Church. and renewed my life long passion to sing in a gospel
quartet. I lean on God more than ever now, and I know he will
never leave me or forsake me.
SCOTT MARSHALL
Lead Vocalist
First and foremost, I would like to tell each and every one of you
that I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and without Him, I would be
lost. In 1979, I was born in El Centro, California, but later moved
to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Later, I moved and have spent my life
to this point in Calhoun, Georgia. As a young child, I was
introduced to Jesus Christ but never took the step to know
Him, and believing is nothing without receiving. In 1997, I
received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. As a young
Christian I knew I had a calling from the Lord, but I did not know
what it was. Finally, in 1999, God called me into the music
ministry. Following that, I joined with several music ministries,
such as worship band, worship team, choir, and a quartet
group. In 2001, I set plans to marry my only wife, Nicole. Three
weeks before I was to be married, I was involved in a tragic
head-on collision while traveling home from work, which led to
several injuries. My most serious injury was a compound
fracture of my tibia, or my leg. I had to go through four
reconstructive surgeries to repair all the damage. As I was in
the hospital, I actually believed that I had nothing left in my life,
but God came to me and said to me, “Your leg is broke, not
your voice!†After that my life was changed, and thanks to the
prayers and the Hand of God, I was saved from the accident
and Satan himself. Satan wanted me dead, but God has always
been with me! It took two years of recovery, but the Lord was
with me every step of the way. After I married my lovely wife
Nicole, we were blessed with our only child Jaylnn in 2003. She
is my pride and joy and I thank God everyday for her. In 2005, I
became a Youth Pastor at my home church, Calhoun
Community Church, which is associated with the Church of
God. However, due to personal issues and opportunities, I
resigned in 2007. I plan on using all my abilities that the Lord
has blessed me with to spread His Word through music with
Emmaus Road, and to continue my pursuit to become closer
with my Lord and Savior, for he has given me a testimony a
new life, and a song to sing!
JUSTIN SMITH
Bass Vocalist
I was born in Greensboro, NC, in 1984, into a musical family. I
am the only child of Bobby and Cathy Smith. I was raised in
Eden, NC, and I was also raised in and am a member of Liberty
Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC. I received Christ at the age of 7
in a Kmart parking lot, so I am a true testimony that you can
receive Christ anywhere, anytime. Although I do not remember
much about the occasion, I do know it happened. I begain to
sing in the choir at age 15 and and that is where I first learned
the different harmony parts. All this singing allowed me to
develop an ear for the bass part. I then joined up with a group
of friends, called Justified, to sing specials at church. I sang
with them until I began my Bachelor's degree at Liberty
University in Biblical Studies. While I attended Liberty, I sang
with my family group the London Trio. I am forever indebted to
these ladies for their influence and Spiritual mantle that I am
blessed with and will carry forward into the next generation. I
graduated from Liberty in May of 2007, and I decided to pursue
a full-time music ministry career. I Then went to the Steve
Hurst School of Music in the summer of 2007 and received a
degree in vocal performance. I Joined the Emmaus Road
Quartet on July 31, 2007 and I have not looked back! I am
excited to see where God takes us in the future.
ROBBIE MOORE
Evangilist/Fill In Lead Vocalist
I was born in Dalton GA on April 15, 1978. I have only one sibling
an older brother. I am married to the most wonderful girl I have
ever known. Her name is Chelsea and we reside in Chatsworth
GA, with our two beautiful children Jackson and Olvia. We are members of Mt. Carmal Baptist Church in Chatsworth, GA.
I experienced a life threatening disease at the age of 15
months called Spinal Meningitis. The doctors told my mother, if
I lived, I would never be able to speak and to never expect me
to be independent. Well, my mother decided to take me to the
Great Physician and he had other plans, he instilled in me a
desire to travel and gave me a talent to use along the way. I
began traveling to different churches at a very young age with
my mother and her father but it was after their deaths that I
experienced being a part of a "group". I was asked to join an all
male quartet out of Atlanta named Capital City. I sang with them
for 3 years traveling all over the southeastern United States.
After leaving Capital City I became active in my home church
playing the organ and singing at revival after revival. During one
of those revivals, I was approached by three gentlemen who
had just started a group and needed a piano player, however,
at the first practice it was evident I would be singing as well. I
sang lead with New Direction for 2 years. The group decided to
end and become more focused in their home churches. That
did not satisfy me, I wanted to keep traveling. I began to pray
for God to put me in a group that wanted to travel and minister
to people because they wanted to, not for a show. After praying
this prayer for about 5 months, I was contacted by Greg and
asked if I would like to try out for Emmaus Road. I currently
am a fill-in lead singer for Emmaus Road and also will Evangilize if the sprit leads.
As everyone knows you reach a time in your life when you
must make a decision regarding your future. I am speaking
about accepting the Lord as your personal Savior. I have not
always been a Christian. Does that surprise you? I have
actually been saved for only 3 years. I was brought up in
church my whole life and thought I was saved for years but
Sunday morning February 3, 2002 the Lord showed me
different. I was singing the invitational song to myself that
morning. I took the Lord up on his offer and have been living for
him ever since. There is absolutely nothing better than telling
the good news about Jesus whether it be in song or in word.
After all, look what he has done for us!!
