About Me

Aka. Marc JXP. And MJX8P Netizen in Second Life.I am a programmer by occupation but creating music has always been a passion of mine. I also used to write some science fiction but that never really worked out. I did get quite good with coming up with lyrics (if I say so myself... ;-) ) but singing them is another matter - which explains the vocoder vocals on several tracks. Still, I'm continuously learning and trying new stuff musically.I also did a lot of music and sounds for the Quake III Arena modification called 'Painkeep Arena' which was quite cool as your music gets to be part of a dynamic game environment.Last but not least, I am one of the two members of 87PM - check out our MySpace page !
Check out my other music on my ReverbNation page .

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: ocean-coast.kara-moon.com
Band Members: Marc JX8P, 38 years old, from the Netherlands. I chose the nickname Marc JX8P for all music forums I joined... can you guess what one of my first synths was? :-)
Influences: Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Genesis, Queen, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd.
Sounds Like: Somewhere between all those influences, but sometimes closer to one of them and at other times very much different. I tend to change my sound often and sometimes on what I've just heard and liked. Some elements, like arpeggio's and airy pads tend to feature heavily though, as do filter effects. The results generally tend to be more atmopsheric and relaxing than experimental and heavy though.
Record Label: none
