About Me

Everybody knows that if you give a guy a guitar, his sex appeal increases tenfold ... and if they don't know, well they should. So it was with this in mind and with the hope that the same applies to the ladies, a young Fordie set out to embark upon her musical career. Sick of being "just another fan", Fordie aspired to have her own fans, and she took the world by storm with her musical prowess. Having never had a guitar lesson in her life, this chick rocked. OK, so that's not exactly how it happened. In fact the only bits that are true are the part about never having had a guitar lesson in her life (unless you count watching the "guitar for Dummies" DVD, and Fordie doesn't, because she turned it of after Lesson 5 when all it had done was tell her the names of the parts of the guitar), and of course the part about increasing a guys sex appeal is true. What really happened is this. It was coming up to Valentine's Day in 2006. Fordie was facing the prospect of yet another empty vase and no boxes of chocolates. She was sad about a boy, and so with a broken heart she penned her first song, cleverly titled "Dunno Why I Love You But I Do".And as events subsequently unfolded, her choice of boy to "fall for" turned out to be a good one, as he provided much subject matter for Fordie to write about in a similar vein to the above mentioned "soon-to-be-Number-1" hit. And thus, the wheels were set in motion for Fordie's career in rock, with over 30 songs written about said boy or inspired by him (well at least 75% of them anyway) over a period of 5 months. So how did it turn out? They got married and lived happily ever after of course. No wait, that's what happens in Fordie's script - the boy's script obviously got lost in the mail, so alas, poor Fordie remains heartbroken with only a bunch of songs in her pocket to show for it. Stay tuned for the day when Fordie is actually brave enough to let someone else hear her songs (Besides the imaginary crowd in her lounge room - who are quite appreciative mind you). PS. The boy in question doesn't know of Fordie's affections for him as she's never been brave enough to actually say anything to him about it - so let's keep it our little secret.
