Mikey Dorje pushes the envelope, strives for originality and lives for the creative process. Born in Boulder, Colorado, Mikey's interest is music and art were apparent at an very young age. Before he could talk he was already drawing coherent pictures at an age when most children are still scribbling. When he was given a tape deck as a birthday present at the age of six he immediately started recording made up songs using his voice, toy keyboards and anything else that made a sound. He moved to Kyoto, Japan with his family at the age of 9 where began playing guitar. At the age of 15 he moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he started producing music on home studio 4 and 8 tracks. By the age of 18 he was recording in full professional studios and touring across eastern Canada and parts of the US. Mikey now lives in Toronto. He has licensed music to: A-Squared Muzik, Hope Recordings, Twisted Circuits Records, Drag n Drop Records, Stranamente Music Publishing, Essence Magazine, Much Music, CBC, Molson Canada, Telus, Future Music Publishing and PCDJ to name just a few. He has collaborated with artists such as Michal the Girl - singer on ATB's hit album "No Silince" (no.15 on Billboards top Electronica charts), Dave Roberetson - one of UKs fastest rising House producers, international Techno pioneer Angel Alanis, Juno nominated singer Tara Slone and many other excellent artists. As the Music Director for m-Qube Inc. he has worked with Warner, SonyBMG, Universal, EMI, Sesame Workshop, MTV, CBS and other companies as well as - directly with artists and management with no label involvement: Madonna, Sting, Public Enemy, 311 and Morrissey.
