Jan Erik Mikalsen

I have studied at the Grieg Academy in Bergen and at the Royal Danish Music Academy in Copenhagen. I have had works performed by severals orchestras in the nordic countries (including Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Stavanger/- and the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra), and also ensembles like the Oslo Sinfonietta and Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra. I have also composed works for various instrument combinations and solo instruments, and received commissions from among others Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra, Thomas Bloch, Orchestre Francais de Flutes and Artis-Quartett Wien. I have also written music for different videoinstallations, with among others visual artist Bård Ask. In October 2006 the CD "Lights Out" was released featuring my work Ghouls & Moons with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
