I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

i started taking pictures when i was a little boy. my father had bought me a kodak 110 camera and some film and i took the most horrible pictures with it. in high school, i borrowed his pentax k1000 and started shooting for the yearbook. photography was very social for me and allowed me to break out of the shyness i suffered at the time. my father gave me $1000 for graduation and i bought a canon t90 outfit. my father chided me for throwing away my money, but using the camera, i made it back tenfold within the next few years.in college, i shot for the newspaper and the yearbook. with unlimited access to film and darkroom time, i shot about 20,000 pictures which were all destroyed in a fire at my apartment building my senior year. after college, having no body of work to speak of save a few scans, i started over.i bought a nikon n90s outfit and started 'the white chair project' where i invited people over for portraits in my oversize white chair. over the years, that project kind of faded away and i found that i was shooting constantly, so much that it made sense to jump to digital, so i picked up a fuji s1 pro and two years later, a nikon d1x. these days i am shooting with a nikon d200.i share a studio with my wife and several other amazing photographers and a magnificent makeup artist, in lorton, virginia.
