About Me

There will come a time when millions will scream Benny Benny BennyBenny began writing at the young age of 7 when he first moved to Boston from Haiti. As an only child, the pen and paper became an outlet of expression, a way to let his creativity run wild. Benny expressed that as a child he loved to write poetry and short stories. He always knew that writing would play an integral role in his future endeavors. His interest in music was deep rooted from a young age, but the interest began to blossom the moment he got off the plane from Haiti and set foot on American soil. As a child, he loved to listen to Michael Jackson, and would try hard to imitate his dance moves. Benny felt that music did something special to him. He felt the rhythm in his heart and soul. He loved music in every way. Music became his first love, one that would grow with him and change him as he grew. At the tender age of 11, Benny was fully introduced to hip-hop music, and immediately drawn to the evolution of hip-hop culture. He was captivated and influenced by the Rakims and the Grand Master Flashes of the time. His interest in hip-hop peaked when he and his best friend started their own group; hip-hop had added another soldier to its revolution. Everyday they would meet to write and practice. Everyday, Benny would gain more confidence in the art that he tried to master at a young age. Locally known producers would soon notice his hard work and drive to succeed in the industry and give him the opportunity to work with them in the studio. The first producer he would work with was Chris. Chris introduced Benny to the studio and the recipe of making a successful recording. He has also had the opportunity to work with producer Stanley Frederick, Paco. Paco has further challenged Bennys creativity and innovation and taught him how to get the right sound when working in the studio. Benny has been known to admire every person, man or woman that has prevailed through his or her personal hardships in order to reach his or her goals and become nationally known hip-hop artists. With the introduction of artists such as Tupac Shakur, Nasty Nas and Jay Z, he came to realize that he wanted to be a part of all aspects of the hip-hop culture. The strong words of these lyricists related stories that rang true in the life of Benny. He could relate to the stories being spouted in the rhymes of each artist. The hip-hop lyrics of the time evoked feelings in Benny that one day he could grow to be the kind of lyricist generations of people would be able to relate to through his words. But, those who truly influenced him were the young men who he grew up with on the rough streets of Dorchester and Roxbury, the guys who would stand with him in a circle in the middle of the local schoolyard and rap with him for hours. Those were the people who would give him the confidence to fully believe that he would fulfill his dream; that he would be the one to lead them to the ultimate goal. There are so many reasons why Benny strived so hard throughout his life to be a successful hip-hop artist. He knows that as an intelligent young black man other urban youth would find both entertainment and guidance through his music. He knows that he can help bridge the gap that still exist between white and blacks in America through his cleverly written lyrics. He also knows that he has a big family, immediate and not, that depend on him accomplishing his goals. Benny has said time and time again that he will not stop trying until he reaches his dream. Benny has excellent skills, yet is able to remain humble. There will definitely come a time when millions will scream Benny Benny Benny.
