JLun aka DJNeko MBM/Slip-N- Slide/Hustle Squad DJ

“The world needs to hear you; you got the craziest blends in the game.” Was the first reaction from former Def Jam A&R/ MegaMoves Entertainment Exec and Break Magazine contributor TreMega during a prerelease listening session of the JLun/ Citty mix tape “Why Yall Get Him Started: The Takeover”. Nicknamed the fastest growing DJ in the south, by several industry artist and execs. He has made the phrase “Why Yall Get This Ni@@a Started” a catch phrase synonymous with JLun AKA DJ Neko and quality mix tapes and blends reminiscent of vintage DJ Jelly classics.
Best known for his “Why Yall Get Him Started” mix tape series, JLun has been monumental in breaking new music and artist in the southeast region. Co-signed by many heavyweights and legends in the industry such as Edi from the Outlawz, Khugo Goodie of the Goodie M.O.B., Young Capone of So So Def, Oktaine of Shadow/ SOH, as well as up and coming artist Citty of Slip n Slide records, The Kadalck Boyz of Colipark Records, G Dinero of Tru Records, ALuv of Konvict Music and a host of others for his mix tape mastery, work ethic, business savvy and dedication.
JLun has traveled the world gracing the club scene from Korea, Bulgaria, and Kosovo through his military travels. Leaving clubs from Key West, Fl to Dallas, Texas to Augusta, Ga and many spots in between, in his wake with his unique blending style of club bangers both new and old.
JLun started out in Key West, Fl at the age of thirteen, caring crates and speakers in exchange for djing lessons at a time when Florida DJ’s Magic Mike, Mr. Mixx, and DJ Laz ruled the DJing scene. Then moving to Daytona Bch where he continued to work, becoming the in demand DJ for the high school circuit. Expanding his geographical boundaries through his Army duty, JLun took his djing style to Killeen, Texas, where he worked the club scene. To Savannah/ Hinesville, Ga where he worked the club scene as well as dabbling in the mix tape circuit. Traveling to Bulgaria, Korea and Kosovo in the process. Becoming a force at each stop. Then moving to Korea, becoming a top 5 military club dj in the country for 2 yrs, being requested across the country. Returning to Augusta, Ga, JLun hit the streets hard, appearing in several clubs and applying more time and energy to his mix tape series.
Significantly increasing sales through his relationships with several artist, dedicated street team presence, loyalty to the up and coming artist, exposure in the streets, clubs, performing with several of the artists and dedication to his craft has coined him the phrase “I’m not a DJ I’m a turntable artist, and I only make Mona Lisa’s. JLun covers all areas of urban music from Hip Hop (Why Yall Get Him Started, Southern Rivalries), Slow Jamz (Bedroom Fantasies: Baby Making Muzik), and RnB (RnB Block Muzik).
Recently, JLun has released his successful releases to date with “Real Muzik Vol. 1”, as promotion for Shadow Records/ SOH Records artist Oktaine’s soon to be released album “Unleashed”. Followed by “Why Yall Get Him Started Vol. 17” featuring then unreleased material from DJ Unk, Huey, Absolute, Hurricane and several others. Then introducing the new series with a fire release of “Southern Rivalries: Lil Wayne vs. Lil Boosie”
