I wake up in the morning and piss excellence.

About Me

I would like to think I'm a funny guy, although I sometimes come off as a total square. Even my use of the word "square" is an indication of the depth of my nerdiness! I feel more comfortable getting someone to laugh at me in a controlled environment (i.e. something I did or said INTENTIONALLY) rather than being laughed at for making a mistake. I still have nightmares of calling my sister-in-law a "breast-taking bride." My humor ranges from witty observations to downright crass behavior. I come from a family that delights in scatological humor (see photos). I mean, if you can't laugh at setting off smoke detectors in the bathroom, what can you laugh at? I would also like to think that I'm a pretty generous guy, often lending an ear to bend or shoulder to cry on. I have lived in MN for 9 years now and have grown used to the cold, but by January I am counting the days until May. As soon as the weather warms, I hit Lake Harriet or Lake Calhoun to bike, walk, or jog around. I like to read and write for fun (as amazing as that sounds to some) and I am an avid movie watcher (not necessarily a movie GOER because I rent a lot of movies on DVD).

My Interests

Biking; Reading; Writing; Baseball (I am a resident of the Red Sox Nation); Shooting pool or throwing darts in a bar; warm weather destinations; getting out and having a good time

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking to expand my circle of friends. I NEED TO GET OUT MORE!! I'm sorry. Does that sound desperate? I'm not really, I just like to get out and have fun, but I need a more diverse group of friends to hang out with. Variety is the spice of life!

Music:

Dave Matthews Band; Peter Gabriel; Pearl Jam; Trik Turner; Enya; Chumba Wumba; Lenny Kravits; Fishbone; the 90's grunge scene reminds me of college (good times, good times) so I try to stay current on alternative music; 80's music reminds me of my high school days so I often have 104.1 on my car radio; select songs in every genre

Movies:

Dodgeball; Braveheart; Shawshank Redemption; Glory (Morgan Freeman is a God!); which reminds me: Bruce Almighty; Name of the Rose; Tommy Boy; Happy Gilmore; Rob Roy; A Few Good Men; Indian Summer (Kevin Pollack - funny man); Saving Private Ryan ("the best movie I never want to see again"); Flesh & Blood; Terminator Trilogy; Alien Quadrilogy; Roan Innish; Jekyll & Hyde Together Again; Along Came Polly

Television:

Nip/Tuck; MXC on Spike TV; Real World; Real World/Road Rules Challenge; Monster Garage; Simpsons; King of Queens; Two and a Half Men; Scrubs; Family Guy on Adult Swim; most History Channel programs; frequent channel surfer

Books:

London by Edward Rutherford; The Last English King by Julian Rathbone; The Alienist by Caleb Carr; Lies and the Lying Liars that Tell Them by Al Franken; Monkeewrench by P.J. Tracy; When Christ and His Saints Slept by Sharon Kaye Penman; The Ten Thousand by Michael Curtis Ford

Heroes:

The Underdogs - those who aren't suppose to succeed, but do or come close; people who chose to do the right thing no matter if it is unpopular or is to their detriment

My Blog

Am I really that ugly?

Okay, I've got 110 different votes rating my hotness and I'm averaging a 5.9.  A 5.9?!  This flies in the face of a recent self-esteem raising experience.  I was told through the g...

Help the JMU Duke Dog

I went to college at James Madison University.  The mascot has been included in the Capital One Bowl where the mascot with the most votes wins.  Right now the JMU Duke Dog is on top and I wa...

I'm an Uncle!

As of about noon time yesterday I added another family role to my list: uncle. My brother's wife gave birth to a baby boy, who came into the world a month early and chucking a moon (breach birth). ...

Do I have spinach in my teeth?

There must be something wrong with my profile because I am getting little response to my introductory emails. Hey, I'm just trying to meet new people, not find a bride-to-be. Well, not right now. A...

This was a good day. I was able to finally close a deal worth $53,000 for the first year at work (commissions to the company would be quite a bit less), which is a fairly large order in the manufactu...

Witticisms

Sometimes I am pleased by my own cleverness. Here are some one-liners that I made up independently, but may have been in circulation. Feel free to use them as opportunities arise. I will add more a...

Woooohooooo!! I am slowly creeping into the "hot" category. I have averaged a 6 out of 3 votes! Of course, it is probably the same person just messing with my head, but I'm thrilled. I encourage a...

Springtime

Have you ever noticed how ugly Spring can be? I know that goes against what songs and poems have you believing, but have you ever looked around starting on March 20? The weather warms enough to stop...

As if my self-esteem couldn't get any lower

I just posted some pics and I have an average of 4.0 on the ratings scale out of 0 votes. Myspace.com has defaulted me at the "cold" end of the spectrum! I'm going back to bed!
