Formed whilst schoolfriends - as all mythical bands should be - in Burnley, Lancashire, The Laurens offer an imaginative escape route out of post-industrial Northern desolation.
Centered around Craig Latham's classic songs of bittersweet English dreaming and alienation, haunting vocal melodies not heard since McCartney and Wilson slugged it out for pop supremacy are coloured in by Tim Nixon's chiming guitar lines (remember Johnny Marr's Smiths peak?), and anchored down by Dan Connolly's dynamic rhythms (the greatest drummer in the North-West since Reni downed sticks. Fact). Shunning the banalities of an over-exposed and mediocre pop scene, The Laurens dig themselves deep underground diligently crafting one of the greatest pop catalogues in the UK whilst attracting a growing cult following to boot. With over 150 tracks written and more to come, The Laurens remain England's last great undiscovered pop hope.
