The White Roses are an electric blues band coming out of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Over the past year they have played dozens of shows in the Back Bay and Cambridge area. They have become quite a popular item around the Berklee campus and are starting to make a name in the city.
When playing live the White Roses usually stick to blues and classic rock tunes. However when recording they explore several genres of music that interest them. They’re originals are influenced by artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix.
The White Roses released their self-titled, first full-length album in January of 2008. This debut album was a project that started in 2006 and has now been on the market for over a year. The album contains 18 tracks, 16 originals and 2 covers. The genres of the tracks vary from blues to classic rock, folk, new age, jazz and even classical, showing the band's versatility and talents in several different types of music.
The White Roses just released their second full-length album, entitled Spark The Chain, in April of 2009. This album differs from the first in that it contains mostly acoustic and pop material. It has started to gain favorable reviews and radio play worldwide.
The White Roses are currently working on new material for an old school, electric guitar driven rock n' roll album to be recorded in the late summer/fall of 2009. They can currently be seen playing gigs in the Boston area.
