HOT CARGO rockin' the tri-state for over 30 years. This 5-piece cover band brings with it a full PA, professional lighting, special effects and 4 full sets of diverse music to keep the floor packed with dancers all night long. From All Right Now to Play That Funky Music to Super Love - there's a little bit of everything to keep the night alive and kickin' till last call. Of course, there's also plenty of opportunities to squeeze on the dance floor to ballads like Wonderful Tonight, Ain't No Sunshine and Ooh Baby, Baby. 2 male and 2 female singers mix-it-up and harmonize to add vocal variety to the show while the bass and guitar supply all the rockin' power to keep the crowd on their feet. With the drums thumpin' and the keyboard adding that extra layer of sound, HOT CARGO delivers a night full of entertainment and fun for all.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Steve "Squirrel" Marshall - Guitar
A founding member of HOT CARGO, Steve has been playing music for over 45 years. Retired from AK Steel, he now spends his time fishing, hanging out with his grandkids and jamming... which is just what he's always wanted to do. His major influences are Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Carlos Santana. He plays a 1980 Washburn Z and runs through a Marshall Stereo Chorus 412 amp, juiced up by an impressive collection of effects pedals. Other bands Steve has played with include: Family Reunion Band and Changing Tides. He loves music as much today as ever and it has always been a huge part of his life. And as if gigs with HOT CARGO aren’t enough, Steve is also a part of the Monday Night Jam Band at Middletown Moose Lodge 501 . These days, if you don’t see him with a guitar in his hands…he’s out fishing.Martha Conn - Additional Percussion & Vocals
Martha brings her sweet, high vocals to HOT CARGO as an added layer of harmony and smooth leads in crowd favorites covering Linda Rondstat and Bonnie Raitt. She lends her vocal talents to the group, as well as playing several hand-percussion instruments to add that additional kick to the mix. Martha has performed lyric and musical theatre for many years and sang back-up for the Cincinnati Jazz/R&B group Metro City. When not performing with HOT CARGO, Martha enjoys spending time playing with her dogs and working in the yard.
Influences: HOTCARGO has been around for a while now...and has gone through many changes over the years. The video below was shot back in 1988 starring 2 founding members of the group: Willie Marhsall and Coni.
Enjoy!
