EXODUS NUCLEAR

About Me

You could say that Gary Exodus was born into a musical family because his grandfather owned a sound back in the 1950s named Count C. The sound deh mash up cause it passed through an area where tings get mess up. His father had a dream to get the sound back on the road one day.Gary's father, Romie used to work at a club named Genesis. They changed the name from Genesis to Exodus but the club got locked down. Romie along with the disc jockey Baby U and engineer Gerald Cameron came together to form a mobile disco and named it Exodus Disco. They already had records and Romie made a trip to Miami and bought the sound equipment.Like many sound men Gary Exodus and his father Romie wanted a private place where they could voice artists. With this in mind Exodus studio was born in 1998. Word got out about Exodus private thing and not only did Exodus voice artists for their own use but they began to voice artists for other sound systems. Exodus have had sound systems come from as far as Japan, Europe, Africa, US, Canada and England to use their facilities.Exodus Dub Studio have voiced all the top artists including Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Babycham, Capleton, Sizzla, Michael Montana, plus young upcoming artist as well as veterans like Bunny Wailer,Triston Palma and Courtney Melody.Gary Exodus is not only one of the owners but is the engineer for the studio too. At only 34 years old he has worked in almost every dub studio in Jamaica including Arrows, Tells, Roof Studio in Ochi, Electroforce Studio in Montego Bay, King Jammys and King Tubbys back in the days. The person who built the studio and is the mastermind behind it all is Neil Harvey. He's really the genius behind the whole thing. Michael Williams otherwise known as Bangarang is a former selector on the sound and now works at the studio. When there are big clashes then Bangarang still works the sound and Gary says, Put him in the category with Ricky Trooper and them. Romie also passes by the studio from time to time.Exodus Studio also build rhythms and as Gary put it I think I can take credit for bringing back some of the older riddims. For example the Head to Toe riddim I was the first person to record on that riddim and then everybody follow. He also said he was the person who began to voice artists on the Woman Deyah rhythm and then he introduced it to Tony Matterhorn. When DaintyCrew.com asked Gary what his views were on the Jamaican Governments decision to clamp down on slack lyrics he quickly jumped to dancehalls defence. Well it kinda fair and unfair for Dancehall. Because to me Soca a the slackest music because them can say anything and it play on the radio. Dancehall the slightest thing you say, the disc jockeys dont want to play it on the radio. So I think it kinda bias.Gary would like to see a stop to corruption in Reggae music and he believes if new artists were given a chance, then Reggae music would have a big future.Gary Exodus future plans are to go into producing, artist managementand do professional recording. Although he will continue to run with the dub studio because he feels he gets a chance to relate to the young upcoming youths while they are still fresh before they get the big exposure.Although the dub studio can only cut one dub at a time Gary also has a digital studio based at his home. Cause you have, what you call it now, studio spies and they listen to what a man do and gwan and tell the other sound systems what they do and they counteract it.Gary advised that everybody is welcome to the studio and assured us that any artist that is available in Jamaica I can get to them cause I have basically everybodys number and whos number I dont have I can get from somebody else.My contacts are phone..1876 361 0333,fax 1876 9247815,email [email protected],[email protected],garyexodus@gmail .com
