Magic. Philosophy. Mathematics. OpenGL. Demoscene. Google News. Slashdot. Game design. MMORPGs. Some of you may have already guessed that I'm a big fan of free and open sourced software. I'm also developing an interest for cars... For the time being, I'm this ---
I've already met the people I'd like to meet. Next step is to get to know them better :)
Progressive rock/metal, fusion, jazz... I also like ambient/lounge/deep chill. I think I'm kinda past the time I preferred heavier stuff...Song of the week: Incubus - Dig
The Prestige.I like magic tricks and I've always been fascinated by the fact that science is a magician's true ally. There is no "real magic" in the sense of the supernatural, but this movie shows how humans, following their obsession, go to great extents to lie to their audience... and in the end they find themselves drowning in their own lies. Definitely a must-see for those with a soft spot for the art of conjuring :)
The Daily Show, Scrubs, Firefly(RIP), Criminal Minds, Prison Break... I used to be a LOST fan, not so much any more - I admit it, I got tired after I saw the foot.I also like the Beauty and the Geek reality show, check both the US and the UK shows out.
Traitor, written by Matthew Stover. This is actually a Star Wars novel. It may strike somebody completely odd how a sci-fi, and in this case a very popular sci-fi franchise novel can actually be someone's favorite. It's all because of Vergere. Vergere is an incredible character that took the plot of the book way out of the widely known Star Wars context. She gave so much depth into the book, and her views, both secular and metaphysical, and her "Knowledge through passion" way of thinking actually made me change views about lots of things... It's funny I guess - maybe stupid/funny/creepy. A Star Wars character really changed me. Brrrr
Norman Borlaug for his incredible, truly humanitarian work in modern agriculture. Pierre-Simon Laplace for being my guide as to what the next version of the human being should be. James Randi for his invaluable persistence against pseudoscience.I also have an extensive list of guitar heroes! :)
