About Me

I learned to play the piano in my father's church at the age of 8. I had an older cousin that introduced me to quartet gospel music. We formed a group called the Supreme Jubilees. We toured with groups like Willie Neal Johnson and the Keynotes and the Mighty Clouds in the 80's. My roots are in the traditional gospel field.
My favorite singer is the late Donny Hathaway. I was heavily influenced by such artists and groups as the Hawkins Family, The Winans, Commissioned, Thomas Whitfield, Rev.Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Choir and many more. This music could temporarily take you away from a particular problem and give you that needed brake to make it through the day.
Music for me is a journey not a destination. We've come so far but there is still much more ahead. Music speaks to the soul and if you keep your hand in the master's hand, everything will be all right. I have performed on stage with other artist such as Willie Neal Johnson and The Gospel Keynotes, The Mighty Clouds Of Joy and several others. I was the keyboard player for D.J. Rogers' community choir in the 80's during his brief stay in the California Central Valley.
I am currently working on another cd project, which I consider to be my best work. I have several connections that I'm working with on my next project. I contribute most of my musical knowledge to my friend Eddie (Spanky) Alford who I played and wrote songs with in the mid 80's. I met Eddie in San Diego, CA when he was with the Gospel Keynotes. We did the California tour and when we got to Oakland Eddie told the Keynotes that he was pulling and joined the Supreme Jubilees. For the next 6-month Eddie and I stayed up all night playing music. Eddie eventually went back to the Mighty Clouds for a brief time. We stayed in contact and a few years later Eddie called me and had me come up and sit in on a session he was doing with Raphael Saadiq of Tone Toni Tony. That was interesting. They had just finished a recording with the group "Total". We are still planning to do a project that will feature Eddie. Stay tuned, there much more to come!
This is another phase of my journey that I had to pursue. As an artist you never feel like you have quite done your best although you have put time and effort into a project but at some point you have to let it go so, here it is. I hope you get something out of this project as many have let me know that they were blessed from my last project “Feel The Holy Spirit”. I am growing and learning everyday in my pursuit of excellence but who’s to say what perfection is. All you can do is your best with what you have to work with and let God do the rest. If he is for you then he’s more than the whole world against you. The Internet is a wonderful thing and is has opened doors that would have remained closed without it. I have met so many other artists who share the same feelings and ideas about this addiction called music. If you miss me from singing and playing down hear, come on up to bright glory, I’ll be singing up there!
God Bless
