About Me
ALINA RIVERA HANSEN Born: August 10, 1988, San Francisco, CA Parents: Elizabeth Rivera, Rick Hansen, Modesto, CA Singer/songwriter Alina Rivera Hansen, 20, has a special gift for music which began as a toddler singing along with the radio while still in her crib to the delight and shock of her parents Liz Rivera and Rick Hansen. Alina attributes her inspiration to become a singer/songwriter to her Grandfather Gerardo Rivera, a singer himself, who taught her to dream big and that there was nothing she could not do; to her mother for her unwavering support of her dream; to her strong Puerto Rican family heritage; and to her God. Alina writes her own music, collaborates with local talent, and other talented family members in her home town of Modesto, CA to produce and record her own songs. Alina's passion for music and singing grew along with her through the teenage years. At 15, 1999, Alina went to Nashville and recorded a demo, My Little Car, at the Elvis Presley Studio. She realized, though that country music was not her venue and tuned into her niche of soul and R&B. In 2003 Alina was invited to sing for the NBA Sacramento Kings' Chris Weber fundraiser for Make A Wish Foundation; and invited back to entertain at the foundation's premier event The Black and White Ball. Alina decided to produce her own recordings in order to have control over her own material and exposure, after an ill-fated trip to Los Angeles. Since then, Alina has produced and recorded many songs. She continues to entertain locally at clubs, such as Fat Cats and events throughout Modesto and northern California where she has established a loyal following. Alina is booked for the PittBull concert on September 13, 2008 as well as for the DefJam Show on September, 23, 2008. Alina is one of 4 children, and admires the spunk of her youngest sister, Makaylah.
