About Me

My Interests

Scuba Diving, Sailing, Furniture Carpentry, Reading, Fossils, paleontology, geology, thecamoebians/arcellaceans, foraminifera (STOP THE SENSELESS FORAM HUNT - save the protists), Beer over wine on most occasions, Travelling, more NDP than Liberal, CANADA IS THE BEST COUNTRY ON OUR ROCK.

Music:

Of no particular order: Sloan, Bedouin Soundclash, Muse, ACDC, Nirvana, jimi hendrix, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Foo Fighters, Greenday, Hot Hot heat, Alicia Keys, 50 cent, Eminem, Outkast, Nora Jones, Shirley Horn, Ella Fitzgerald, Dave Matthews Band, Madonna, Metric, Our Lady Peace, Pink Floyd, Plain White T's, Simple Plan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Hip - lots of shit.

Movies:

Men of Honor, Jurassic Park Trilogy, White Squall, Hotel Rwanda, Tears of the Sun, Cut Throat Island, Swiss Family Robinson (great classic!), The Abyss, Braveheart, Van Wilder, Enemy at the Gates, Reign of Fire - I like adventure films, stuff to do with the ocean, dino movies, and films that generally make it absolutely clear that the US is inept at preventing terrible atrocities regardless of the rediculous amount of power they weild or films that invoke inspriation on some level.

Television:

Dont really watch TV -

Books:

Great Expectations, The First Americans Saga by William Sarabande, Anne Rice Vampire series, Robinson Crusoe, Out of the Silent Planet, Bible. My favourite medium is the Short Story. Favs include "A Stoic" by John Galsworthy (first published in 1918), A good Scent from a Strange Mountain by Robert Olenbutler, and Klee Wyck by Emily Carr... There are more, but that is a decent start.

Heroes:

My dad, Mr. Peter Mansbridge is my hero for making Mr. Paul Martin look like a dorkus on National Television (but I'm stil left), Huckleberry Finn, Doc Holiday, Mr. Squintz.
