About Me

The Gospel According to Hilario St. Ives By Jacob Lomax:
Hilario lives quietly in his home in Nampa, Idaho. When he's not planning to steal cars or apply lip liner, he enjoys various forms of artwork, obsessing about different movies, music, artist, authors etc... A young man with big dreams of fame, he is starving for culture in the dreary world known as Nampa. An artist who is truly ahead of his time, not only in style and interest but ideas about life. Sources believe that this artist was not truly born yet until he was given his super star name: HILARIO ST. IVES. It is predicted that one day he will grace the screen in trashy exploitation films, cruse through the music scene with experimental beats and haunt the art world with neo-transgress artwork.
I HATE 77 I HATE 77 I HATE 77 I HATE 77 I HATE 77 This so called punk attitude is getting ridiculous, some people don’t treat it as music but more like politics. The so called punks downtown rant and rave about how great the year 1977 was. Well not really, in reality punk is nothing more than those SAME OLD FUCKING CHUCK BERRY CHORDS sped up really fast. Is this so great? Is this the wonderful musical advancement that everyone goes on and on about? Yeah good things came out of punk and there are alot of punk songs that are alot of fun but there have been alot better advancements in music than that of 77. The only thing shocking about the classic punk look is not that it's still around but that fact that kids think it makes them OUTSIDE OF SOCIETY. It doesn’t because at the end of the day there is still a kid at another school who dresses like me, you and everyone else no matter how hard they try to be different. The albums of that year weren’t that great, there’s the classic Nevermind the Bullocks which is a decent album. The Clash's The Clash is mediocre at best; The Damned's Damned, Damned, Damned has a few good tracks but nothing spectacular... I refuse to consider The Ramones, The Dead Boys, Television or Suicide as 'punk bands.' These were the better alternative bands of the time saddly thrown into the genre of punk because they hung out on the East Side of New York during the golden days of CBGBs. Maybe I'm ranting and raving like a mad woman but Im sick of the credit 77 gets when really it made little musical advancements. In my opinion there are so many better things that came before punk (Velvets, New York Dolls, Bowie, The Stooges, Suicide) and so many better things that came after punk (Joy Division, The Cure, Alien Sex Fiend, Siouxsie and the Banshees) So drop dead 77" You're old and senile...
