After massive crowds that have grown every year over the last 6 years, Masala Mix is returning for the second time this year to jump start the new uni semester. This event promises to be the biggest yet, falling on India and Pakistan Independence day. Come celebrate this day at Australia’s premier venue – Metro City.We have a treat for everyone this Masala Mix, with Jay Dabhi aka Lil Jay from NYC, one of the worlds leading South Asian DJs headlining the bill. After his last Masala Mix performance, regarded by many as the finest DJ set at a Masala Mix event, he is back again to please another sell out crowd. We also have your favorite Masala Mix residents with our very own MixtaBishi and DJ Ice on the 1s and 2s, as well as HeadAyke playing his unique mix of rnb and hip hop anthems. There will also be special live shows from Cloud Kollectiv playing their underground blend of Desi fushion beats and Farita live on stage singing her hits. Get ready for one massive party this winter as we unleash a huge line up for our 13th edition.Out of all of the South Asian deejays that have emerged from the New York City club circuit, only one, whose unmatched DJ skills and incredible remix work, has earned the title of North America’s greatest South Asian deejay: Jay Dabhi. Jay achieved national acclaim with his top selling remix albums, “NY’s Finest I and II,” He also reached 1 on the BBC Asian Network with his infectious hit “Mumbai After Dark”. He also maintained very strong chart position with his Reggaeton remix of Bikram Singh and Gunjan’s widely popular hit “Kawan”.
