Life is what you make it. One can look for the positives or stay in the negatives.
We can either be about the Light or hide ourselves in our own darkness. Be about love or chose hatred. These are the choices we can make. There is no such thing as sitting on the fence in this life. For we are going to choose one way or the other.
For many years in my life I chose to live in the darkness and stay in the negatives. Some of this was out of ignorance because I didn't realize that the choice to a good life was my choice. And some of it was because I tried to live by works alone and not by faith. It is in faith that we are justified in Christ not in works alone. No one can make these decisions for us for if they could then they could live our lives for us. When GOD created us He gave us free will and no one can really take that away unless we give it away. No matter what circumstances we may face we still have a choice. And in Jesus we can find the freedom of true love that this world cannot offer.
I use to be a prisoner to my ownself, I use to allow negativity rule my every thought and action. In reality though I allowed this to be in my life, nothing anyone did to me held me in this mindset it was my own choice. My freedom from the dark cloud of negativity came when I realized the truth and the truth is JESUS. Though I have found such freedom I still face hardships and obstacles in my life, yet I have found the strength to overcome these things and that strength comes from the Lord.
We can live defeated or victorious either way it is our own individual choice and in order to be helped we must help ourselves. The first step of freedom is admitting to ourselves our need and the second step is facing the truth. We can spend our whole lives being defined by what the world says about us or what GOD says about us. I choose what GOD has to say about me.
Who I am is not found in a bottle, not found in a fad, not found in who I hang with, not found in my bank account, but who I am is found JESUS. In Him I dont have to be a slave to the things of this world. We can choose to be happy or to be disappointed, We can choose to find contentment with what we have instead of always wishing we had more, We can find the beauty in this life if we refuse to be blinded by the negatives..it is truly on how we choose to live.
My prayer for you is that you realize the truth in JESUS that He did not come to condemn us nor enslave us to the things of this world but to set us free so that we can serve HIM with all of our heart, mind, and soul. For the things of this world is death but faith in Jesus is life.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. -Romans 8:1-6
