About Me

Jay Quentin is a composing-producer-entertainment executive inspired by the outstanding tradition of songwriting & producing established by many of our great soul songwrting-arranging-producing executives like Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, Thom Bell, Norman Whitfield, Barry White, Gene Page, Holland-Dozier-Holland, The Corp [Berry Gordy, Fonce Mizell, Deke Richards, Freddie Perren] , Willie Mitchell, Leon Ware, Leroy Hutson, Curtis Mayfield, the MIZELL brothers, Teddy Randazzo and so many others that have defined our culture through passionate songwriting and superior vocal performances immaculately preserved on records by brands like Motown, STAX, Philadelphia International Records and many more.
He studied audio engineering, electrical engineering, piano and music theory at Temple University's Boyer College of Music where he recieved his Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies. He then developed his skills as an A&R and Asst Engineer at Ruff House Records and Studio 4 respectively, before working as the Executive Asst to Steve Rifkind of LOUD Records. In an effort to become closer to the production component of hit making, Jay Quentin went on to work at BAD BOY Ent in the A&R Dept before going onto NYU's prestigous Music Business Program where he was accepted in a class of 30 out of tens of thousands of applicants. While at NYU, Mr. Quentin worked closely with Steve Stoute, then President of Black Music for Interescope Records. After graduation, he took a post as a management executive for The LEVERAGE GROUP, designing consumer and entertainment brand partnerships for many of today's top music and consumer brand products. Mr. Quentin has recently launched Quentin Music Corp., a full service brand designed to exploit his composition, arranging and production skills, while developing young producers in need of career direction.
