www.sweatybettybluesband.comi have been playing drums since 1969, self-taught with lots of bad habits i suppose. played my first paying job 3 weeks after receiving my first drum set. a used sears and roebuck, my playing was a little rough as i recall. been in and out of bands for most of that time even though i DID take a fairly long hiatus. i play a new Ludwig Classic maple kit, gibraltar 9600 series and pearl hardware, protection racket drum bags (the best bags made in my opinion)i switch between a worldmax "blackhawg" 6 1/2" X 14 ludwig black beauty replica, black nickel over brass snare and a 5 1/2 X 14" 1947 slingerland radio king 1 ply maple snare, a 5 1/2 X 14" pearl brass sensitone, and a 5 X 14" pearl sensitone II elite bronze. i just added a custom built (mckenzie drums), 5 1/2 X 14", 1 ply steambent curly cherry to the arsenal. it has pretty much become the snare of choice, well at least for now! i also play Bosphorus Turkish cymbals, K zildjian, A zildjian custom cymbals. remo heads and pro-mark sticks "elvin jones" signature model, hard to find, hard to beat! i have pretty much played every genre at one time or another but now i prefer "blues" and "pocket" type playing...
