"Best Young Band in Scotland"
The Scotsman 19/04/07"Go and see Jakil now, and when they get stadium-gig big say you saw them first. I first saw them at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh and was blown away. They have great original material, but the amazing thing was the audience joining in with their favourite numbers. They are influenced by a vast array of artists and music genres. Over the last four years they have progressed from gigs in the Bongo Club to Liquid Rooms. Last year they triumphed in the Edinburgh Battle of the Bands.'

Speaking to the BBC Scotland news website, he said: "We were so excited that it was all a blur on stage when we won.
"We were presented the award by the X Factor's MacDonald Brothers who later went out with us. They were so nice and told us to take one step at a time and keep going.
"On the stage the presenter jumped on us and I ended up having my jaw put out of place, but I suppose that is rock and roll for you."
The band, which is made up of singer Kieran O'Brien, 18, bass guitarist Iain Downie, 18, drummer Mike McTernan, 18, electric guitarist Jamie Robertson, 18, and electric guitarist Liam Narrie, play rock pop with a funky edge..."
