Greetings myspace!!
We are Afro-Dizzi-Yak!!
Many people ask where the band name Afro-Dizzi-Yak comes from especially the way we spell it. Well all I can say is a Dizzi-Yak is a mad-Cow and well thats Misty and the drummer John just happens to have curly hair so that's where the name spring up from. But . . We're mostly known as Dizzi-yak. I must stress it is nothing to do with the word 'aphrodisiac' nothing could be further from the truth from this hard hitting rock covers band.Essex based band Dizzi-Yak formed in 2004 after many years of being closet musos who love nothing more than good old fashioned Rock n' Blues. We are predominantly a Rock covers band who play everything from 60s to current day rock but unlike most covers bands we do write our own material from time to time. Shame was written by drummer John and put together on garageband by the rest of the band all the instruments are real recorded directly . . .hope you enjoy..
Unlike most Rock Covers Bands we have a Female lead vocalist who is also our bassist and two lead guitars which form a Harmonised and rounded solid wall of sound, mix this with one mad-crazy drummer John, who if your lucky may even keep his clothes on. Cool cat guitarist Martyn the marmite and Alex 'the herbert' and you have yourself one kick -arse Rock group!
You never know we may even rock your granny!
..

Martyn our lead guitarist has been playing for many years now. He has gone on to teach pupils one of which is Alex (the Herbert) our other guitarist who has played in the National Youth Rock Orchestra and who currently studies at music college for his Degree- Also martyn is a registered guitar tutor for lessons please call

To contact the band via the main email address:- [email protected] Tel:- 01621 815366 landline and 0771 408 9696 mobile
Special Thanks goes to Nick (ex blueprint), Nigel (current break for the border), and Tony (current Timeout) who have been stand in bass players for the band, while Misty has been having complete new metal wrists implanted in both hands. Thanks Guys. This is while Misty heals properly and gets feeling back in her hand.

Sounds Like: A Blend of Old and New Rock songs with a Yak twist. Taking the sounds of two completely different guitars, PRS and Les Paul combining the different playing styles of both lead players and what you get is complete wall of harmonized sounds. Mix this with the deep round sounds of the bass and constant drums and you have a powerful rock band playing covers in there own particular style.
