Landmine Valentine (LV/LMV), grew out in mid-2006 as a band in a practice session between founding members Christian, Ej & Aleth. Band name was eventually picked from a line in Chicosci song "Sweet Maria" since all three of them are part of the group's mailing list. Heavily inclined with a great deal of hardcore & Christian metalcore influences, the band started playing covers from Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Emarosa, Across Five Aprils and the likes. That time, they already shared the stage with mainstream local acts as Chicosci, Stonefree, Greyhoundz, Fuseboxx, Valley of Chrome, etc.
In 2007, they started making their own compositions which they regularly play on local gigs. Their music is a product fusion of influences, ideas and musicality characterized by unique balance of dissonance and melody, channeling the loud and hardcore ethos into more measured, subtle forms of tension and release. As a result, sounds are precise rhythms with loud guitar based instrumentation, heavy synth samples and fierce drum beats accompanied by energy and vocals that are executed as melodic whispers or screams.
After several line-up changes, Landmine Valentine is now a six-piece experimental post-hardcore & metalcore outfit primarily consist of Xhan Bautista [vocals], Joc Lagac [guitar/vocals], Ej Pedido [guitars], Migs Gutierrez [bass], Pato Sandoval [drums] & Gudo Gonzales [Synth/Keys].
