About Me

Don't you worry about me...I know me well enough...you worry about you.I'm liberal, love music, my friends, cats and good green. If I won Powerball, I'd move to B.C., and buy citizenships for my friends who wished to flee the U.S. I think "American Idol" is evil, dark chocolate is ambrosia, and the Bush administration has done more to set us back in the eyes of the rest of the planet than any president, ever. I have been told by reliable sources that I am funny, kind and have the manners of a Southern gentleman. Not a cig smoker or big drinker.

My Interests

Travel, music, film, the NY Times, Mojo/Uncut/Harpers/Cannabis Culture/Adbusters magazines, current affairs, sex, a nicely rolled joint, yoga, Sustainable Development issues, quietly mocking others.

I'd like to meet:

First, I don't wish to meet anyone who lists Nickleback as a favorite artist. I was once seated next to their lead singer at a restaurant in Seattle. I regret that I did not jam a chopstick into his neck when the opportunity presented itself. Seriously...I hate Nickleback...they are the new Creed. I have difficulty servicing the numerous friendships I have, as they are spread out across the globe. So, while I am a big music fan, I am not looking to meet anymore bands. Seriously. The bands I do have listed? Those folks are my friends. Not MySpace friends, but actual hang out, phone one another, work on things together sort of friends. I must get 3 requests to be "friends" from bands per week. So unless I know you, or we have friends in common, or you are in one of the bands listed in my "music" section, please refrain for asking me.Rock on...

Music:

This could take all day - I am sitting in my sunny front room looking at the 1200+ LPs and 3000 + CDs that line my walls like a crazy old man collecting newspapers. I'm gonna forget people/groups, but that said - Rolling Stones, Curtis Mayfield, Drive By Truckers, Detroit Cobras, Prince ( I was going to say early Prince, but that little fucker is so funky, I have to love even the stuff I don't get), Otis Redding, Lou Reed, Black Keys, Amy Winehouse, Sly Stone, Al Green, Outkast, The Roots, Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Bob Dylan, Chris Whitley, Centro-Matic, Los Lobos, Stax/Volt artists, Wille/Waylon/Loretta Lynn, Neko Case, Sam Cooke, The Faces, Steve Earle, Aretha, Replacements, Etta James, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, FAME studios, Peter Tosh, Studio One, Trojan label, Elvis Costello, The Bellrays, Elliot Smith, Kanye West, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, Staple Singers, Nina Simone, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Leonard Cohen, Yo La Tengo, John Lee Hooker, Mark Lanegan, The Band, Billie Holliday, Neil Young, The Dirtbombs, oh so many more. You must be tired of reading them by now...I'll listen to most anything EXCEPT - hair metal bands, show tunes, Celine Dion, 99.9% of Top 40, anything produced by, associated with or otherwise having passed through the blood soaked dirty hands of the blue eyed devils at "American Idol".
