Who are GOMP? The mystery that surrounds them is sweeping the online music loving community like internet flu. Some say they were raised by wolves, others that they are the children of fallen communist dictators. GOMP exist on an entirely new plane of existence too cool to even have a name. They make music because their lives depend on it, and so do yours. These disparate youths combine their talents head on like a car crash, and from the shards of glass, metal and pools of blood their sound is born. They claim they met in bus stops, chip shops and make up counters but the true story is so strange you wouldnt believe me if I told you.
Enigmatic singer Jamie's soulful eyes peek out from under his lush, enviable hair; the very words he speaks are poetry to the ears and his vocals are a drug, leaving you desperate for your next fix. Guitarist Vishala creates visceral soundscapes to animate the mournful vocals. Selling out equals creative suicide so Vishala saves her best work for her solo records which she will never record. She would never befoul the purity of her music by containing it within the boundaries of a cd. Not that a cd could contain it. Taransay based Welsh political exile MC Iowerth spits forth flames of verbal fury into the mix and his diatribes have been met with both horror and plaudits from all corners of the music press.
GOMP have two bass players. Why? Because they want to. Nick and Luce are hairy bass bastards, sharing just one bass between them. Nick stands behind Luce and they pluck the strings with one hand each. The duos creative vision and on stage sparring drags the bass into a new era and leaves the listener throbbing with desire for this four armed bass hermaphrodite. The rest of the band add their own obscure flourishes of genius to the maelstrom inbetween drug binges, falling in and out of love with each other and taking turns driving the tour bus.
