Over a sky
made of daisies
I walk.

I imagine today
that I’m holy.
That they placed the moon
in my hands.
That I set her back
into space.
And the Lord awarded me
a rose & a halo.

Over a sky
made of daisies
I walk.

And now I move down this field
rescuing maidens from
evil suitors,
giving gold coins
to all the young boys.

Over a sky
made of daisies
I walk.

--Federico Garcia Lorca

April Snow

My mind is so full of itself. I wake up at night with competing windchimes and want to make white noise the only noise I ever hear. Snow is quiet, peaceful, makes you cozy. I guess I like winter more ...

The moon rose over an open field

Cathy, we're lost we say though we know she is sleeping. It's all right, it's what we wanted. Adventure. Intrigue. Broken clocks and pockets to hide the things we brought but wouldn't need. But, the f...

some are mathematicians, some are carpenters' wives

The first time I held someone's hand in any meaningful way was in the '90s. We were at the edge of a continent. It was a weekend away from everything, which was already a measurable distance away from...

The Eiffel Tower shut down in protest, and I do too.

The next issue of the magazine is Be Your Best You. I'm not thrilled by that, but, I am learning something from all the stories for "hersoul." I am learning how to do my daily mantras, how to create a...

The Bell, The Sky, The Building, You

We were on the roof, looking at the city framed against the sky. It was normal, it was yesterday. You said something about Oregon, I said something about the terrible new building going up across the ...

The hero will be me.

I told someone once that I could figure it out and its true. I was supposed to learn how to rescue people in the wilderness, but I was sick that day because I had gone on a vision quest which is a poe...
