CtK
Bio
A king is a leader; someone who rules without question. That's what best describes Justin Montgomery, better known as CtK. He is the quintessential poster-child of what being a king in the rap game is all about. With his witty flow, charm, and excellent wordplay, he is set to take the music industry by storm. The charismatic emcee is looking to be the first Hip Hop superstar to be born in the state of Connecticut, as well as represent it. The self proclaimed King of Ct, makes it evident that he is destined for greatness, the minute he opens his mouth to rap. The unlimited confidence of the young rapper will some day propel him into elite status as a hip hop artist.
CtK was born, Justin Montgomery on October 14, 1986 in Stamford, Connecticut. The younger of one other sibling, was raised by his mother in a predominately Black and Puerto Rican neighborhood, in Stamford, Ct. Growing up, he was an avid sports player with no intentions of being a rap artist. Although his surroundings were dominated by artist such as The Notorious B.I.G and Nas, his sights were set on the NBA. It was around 1997 when he started to listen to, and appreciate the art of hip hop music. But, still he was focused on becoming a basketball star. In 1999 on his 13th birthday, he and his family moved to Atlanta GA. It was not a smooth transition for the teenager; he missed his beloved hometown immensely. A little less than half a year later, it was time to start High School. This was when any thoughts of a basketball career were in question. Following two years of ineptitude in the classroom, he was forced to undergo a knee surgery. His passion for the game of basketball began to lessen. This was due to his struggles in school, and his injury. In the 2003-2004 school year he had an improvement in his work ethic in school. This was around the time he started to write music and consider rapping as a viable option. He began writing everyday, trying to perfect his craft, to become the best rapper to ever pick up a mic. The name CtK was an easy one to come up with for the 17 year old. He says "I feel like Im unquestionably the best to ever come out of CT". That was the beginning of his drive to stardom as a Hip Hop artist. Although he had a slight improvement in the classroom, it was too late. He decided that school was too overbearing, and left it behind at the age of 17.
Since then, CtK has continued to work at a rapid pace to become the greatest. Now, teamed up with numerous other artists, the future star is shining brighter than ever. With the assistance of many producers, CtK is growing at an extreme rate, as an artist. With songs such as "Keep Coastin", "So High", and "Live & Die", he shows his astounding lyrical ability. He has also gone on to record a track with dance music queen, the one and only Robin S. The song is entitled "At My Best" and is available for sale on Itunes, Amazon, and various other music sites online. Only time will tell if this extremely talented artist will reach his lofty expectations. But its seems like a certainty that his special talent will not go unnoticed. Stay tuned as CtK makes his ascent to the top of the music world.
