JYD was born November 17, 1982 as Brandon David Pierre Brown in Minneapolis, MN
He graduated from Apple Valley High School in 2001. After high school JYD attended Dillard University, New Orleans, LA, and later ASU, Tempe, AZ.
Professional Background:
JYD started dancing, writing, and performing at the age of 8. A self-taught drummer he began playing at his grandmother’s church Victory Christian Center Church in Minneapolis. He has performed at talent shows dancing and rapping while attending Dillard University in New Orleans, as well as being a stage manager for national acts performing at the school.
