UPDATE 3.4.09
I'm getting itchy fingers again. I'm a bit bored of writing songs on my own though so I'm looking to join one again. Thanks to Jim and Ashley my bass has has a service. By listening to my tracks you should be able to see how all my songs are pretty different, some electronic, some acoustic, some sweet and some just plain weird.
UPDATE 30.03.08
I've just uploaded to this site two totally excellent covers. Psychic City is a cover of a song written by the schoolgirls, check out their myspace page to hear the original. Hey Joe was of course done by Hendrix, Love, The Mothers and many many other people. I covered this as a challenge posed by jonathan from the schoolgirls. enjoy.
UPDATE 10.02.08
Here are a few new songs I made a couple of months ago now but didn't get chance to put on here yet.Team Stephanie is currently busy working on a new project currently titles 'Mr and Mrs President Frankenstein' with Stab of Hidden Message Films. Look out for some excellent new tracks from that project.
UPDATE 03.07.07
I'm afraid there wont be any new songs for a while. At the moment I'm way too busy working and when I'm not working, I'm trying to earn money. So unless someone slaps a recording contract on my desk, Team Stephanie is on a break. Just for a while. In the mean time, look out for my cottage industry sari silk scarfs, coming soon, seriously.
UPDATE 09.12.06:
Four whole brand new songs for you. I'm really very hapy with all of them.
Disco might be my favourite. It makes me smile every time I listen to it. When I wrote it I had in my mind I wanted to write something with a similar feel to Economic Time Bomb, I think I suceeded. I'm using a washing-up bowl for the percussion on this, which was a lot of fun.
Jim is of course a love song dedicated to jimtheschoolgirl. I wrote it ages ago, when I first learnt to play guitar, with a capo given to me by Signe, I wonder if she remembers? I'm using my first every guitar, a clasical bought for £30 from Argos that I named Baby and a percussion set i bought for £10 from Lidl. Music on a buget!
Far Love is another attempt at a love song. It was suposed to have a Talking Heads fell to it origionally, I don't think it really did in the end though. I still like it. It just evolved orgainically. The keybord bit is hilarious. he he he.
The Wolf, erm I don't know how or why I wrote that, I think I must have gone a bit mad for a second there.
I would say I hope you like them but to be honest i don't really mind. I think they are AMAZING!!! And that's what matters right? Keeping me happy. Stephanie.
UPDATE 05.11.06
Back in the studio over the next month or so, so expect some new songs. They're pretty much written they just need recording. In the mean time I've shuffled the tracks round so you can hear some of the old ones again. Also this weekend a photo shoot with Wild, keep your eyes pealed.
UPDATE 07.06.06 Last song of the new bunch. I'll leave it a little while before I post any more. The lyrics for this one were provided by hannah_stephanie, well the basis for them was I elaborated a bit. I think this one could be my top 40 pop song. The structure and content are a bit more conventional the my other material. Hopefully it still retains that copyright kooky twist.
n night
UPDATE 06.06.06: I've uploaded the new songs. Let me know what you think.
They were all made with the minimum amount of kit I could manage. You could fit the whole lot including the studio into a rucksack, granted the guitars would stick out the top but not that much. I used a 1/3 size bass and a tiny aproximatly 1/2 scale guitar. It's everything in the photo for 'the hangover' plus a washing up bowl, cadbury's fingers tin and a large dictionary that we used for drums. I definatly think this material is less electronic sounding which is what I was going for. I think i might be able to do the songs more justice by re-recording them on 'the MCP' as the schoolgirls call it, so expect a cleaner more high quality sounding version of them at a later date.
bye for now.
