The 925s are an up and coming indie rock quintet, hailing from Peterborough, their charismatic guitar riffs and foot stamping drum beats are sure to lure you to the dancefloor.
The first incarnation of the 925s grew up together officially forming the band in early 2006.
Gigging regularly in the city created quite a following of fans and led to support slots with artists such as The Automatic and New York's hottest band We Are Scientists. This also exposed them to a whole host of local bands in the Peterborough music scene, Allowing them to develop a dominant stage presence and improving interaction with their fans.
The 925s recorded their debut self titled EP in 2007, which received fantastic press reviews and showed huge amounts of promise for the future.
After signing a record deal with Red Bullet The 925s moved to Holland. They have gigged through the country and supported sell out shows with Babyshambles, Golden Earring and We Are Scientists, to name but a few.
The 925s released their first single (Wake Up) in 2008, which got a lot of air play on TMF and was the most watched video on TMF.nl for several weeks. The album, Time To Wake Up, was produced by Werner Pensaert (U2, Manic Street Preachers and many more).
Due to growing tension between the original members on tour in the summer of 2008 the original line up decided to part ways, and reynolds and Laughton returned to the UK facing the dilema of finding capable musicians to join their band. These came in the way of Alex Cox, Austen Smith and Paul England. The new editions bringing a new enthusiasm and excitement to the bands music that was not present before, and also a new personality onstage that an audience can relate to. The addition of a third guitar also bringing another dimension to their band, live shows sound bigger and better than ever.
Early 2009 saw the band in the studio writing and filming a music video for their new single "in the end" due for release summer 2009.
Now unsigned and self funded, the band have a DIY ethic, managing every aspect of the band themselves. The 925s have gone back to basics, working to re-invent their sound to capture a larger audience.
