I get asked a lot, “what inspires your music?”
I have never really given a thorough answer because in my opinion, music inspires me first, and other things inspire the music second. The writing process for my first album has been just this. The way I play and choose to live my life is by keeping my ambitions pure and simple: to spread a lifted and positive message. I believe in all kinds of art, I am just fortunate to express mine through a pen, paper, voice, guitar, and mic. It is all I really need in life; it is an amazingly gratifying passion. I give you the words and melodies the same way I feel them in my soul.
Sometimes people say, “I hope you make it someday!”I am not really concerned with making it, because in my opinion, I already have. No, I’m not some super top 10 big time billboard person in Time Square with TV commercials and corporate albums. But, I “made it” in the sense that I thave created something special and intangible to many people free of dollar signs and ticket sales. I have made an honest expression.
To everyone who has been with me from the start, and to those of you who are listening for the first time, I genuinely say, thanks for the support.
