About Me

I try my best not to get caught up thinking "about me" but I suppose you could say I'm a walking (but often sitting) contradiction that enjoys a good laugh (whether it be causing or supplying). If I went on it would (a) take forever, and/or (b) sound terribly cliched...so I suppose the best way to get to know about me is to just talk to me. Plus, words cannot fully encapsulate the extent of my excellence. For those not in the know, yes, that last line was a joke. But, you have to give me some credit for the alliteration. C'mon, it was awesome. Admit it.

One thing I will say, however, is that I have been told that I live in a "hyper-reality," meaning what you see as mundane and ordinary can (and probably will) turn into something absurd and ridiculously silly if left with my imagination for a few seconds. This may be due to the fact that my mother dropped me on my head a lot as a child and assigned me the chair next to the microwave at the dinner table. Thanks a lot, mom.

My Interests

aaaand let the triteness begin: music, movies, friends, humor, acting, guitar, singing [mostly at 1AM once everyone has fallen asleep while/or in the shower], photography, sketching, reading, Don Hertzfeldt's cartoons, sports, pillows, talking, satire, blankets, people watching, surreal moments, absurdity, wit, awkward silences, laughing [especially when it results in me shedding tears, cramping up and doubling over in pain], intelligent sarcasm, quality time spent with people worth quality time, sports, USC and anything relating USC--Fight On!, doing things that make for great stories, losing sleep for a great reason, saying I hate myspace but logging in every hour anyway, learning, finding new interests like wondering if anyone ever actually reads these stupid lists

I'd like to meet:

A lot of people...but, if we're going to get all hypothetical and creative, I'd have to say I'd like to meet myself at age 3, and give myself a nice talk, and a long list of written advice and suggestions for the 19 years that stands between us. My only fear is that 3 year old me would look at current me, shake his head in disgust and ask me what the hell went wrong. Well 3 year old me, that's the point of the talk and list of advice! C'mon, give me a break! I'm trying to change things for the better here! Haven't you seen Back to the Future or Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?? Oh...you haven't? That's right. Of course. It's still 1986 and you don't even know what a movie is yet...
