Power corrupts. Absolute power is fun!

About Me

I live with one of my best friends and my girlfriend and each of us has a cat. I like to help people, possibly because I'm trying to make up for past wrong doings. My potential has been wasted in the past, but I'm getting better all the time. I tend to obsess over the things (and woman)I love, but I don't see that as a fault. How can it be wrong to spend my time thinking of the things that keep my life from having the 'killing spree' ending? I want what most people want: to be happy. I don't necessarily need money for that, and I'm unwilling to hurt others to be happy. That seems to be a rare thing these days.

My Interests

I am interested in friendly competition. You wanna play a game? My XBL tag is at the top of this box. You wanna do some fighting? I do mideval style armored combat at the Jeffco Fairgrounds on Thursdays (the weapons are fake, but the fight is real). I like being entertained, so a game of pretend (ususally a table top RPG) is not out of the question. I also love to make people laugh. I feed off of that energy, like some sort of psychic vampire. I also enjoy a good drink or ten.

I'd like to meet:

I wanna meet people like me, and people not at all like me. I'm not promising to like any of them, but how will I know until I do it? Everyone has something they can teach, and I like knowing shit.

Music:

I'm currently digging Stone Sour, but my perennial favorite is Slipknot. If I'm working, a good techno beat will get me moving quickly. Otherwise I'm all about the Rock. And sometimes other stuff, but not Country. Oh how I loathe that dreck! Also: got it bad, so bad, I'm hot for teacher! Class dismissed!

Movies:

The King Kong remake didn't have the scene where Kong punches into the building and grabs the woman! WTF? Actually, I don't really care. I seem to be a bit of a movie buff, and can tell you (accurate!) info about movies I've never seen. Eerie, yes? I can watch almost any movie and enjoy it, as long as I have the right company and/or booze. Except Ultraviolet. That movie FUCKING SUCKED!

Television:

The Simpsons. Not as good as it once was, but give thanks for reruns. Futurama. Cancelled, but rerun on Adult Swim. Except that AS caved and censored 'Sweet Zombie Jesus!' I like cartoons, but sometimes there is a drama or action series that catches my interest. And then they move it to thursday so I can't watch it. Bastards.

Books:

Every once in a while, my brain gets so hungry that it drags me to a book store and forces me to buy books. It then rapidly (2 days) and messily devours them. My favorite books are Heroes Die and Blade of Tyshalle.

Heroes:

Hoegaarden. The man, not the beer (but it is a good beer). Sabrina, who sees in me something I cannot. Also, the various other people who guide me on my path to greatness. Its a long damn path, but I'm on my way down it anyway. To Hoegaarden and Sabrina and all these others I give my thanks.

My Blog

A step in the right direction... an intro to footwork.

You square off against another fighter.  The adrenaline surges in your veins as 'lay on' is called.  You turtle up just before a flurry of shots hammers your shield...  Suddenly, your o...

Situational awareness

Some time back, Horn proclaimed Death From Behind (DFB) to be lame.   He's right, of course.  Dying like that in a melee is no fun.  He went on to say that we should no longer use ...

Auld Lang Syne-onized!

The hiatus is over.  The holidays are a busy time for everyone, and I'm no exception.  The coming weekend will be the first since September that I don't have to do anything.  That, and ...

My weekend: The cliff notes version.

I got to see my knight last night.  He and his wife flew in from TX to visit family for the holidays, but they made time to catch up with me.  Its nice to see that they miss me as much as I ...

A reopened wound

Actually, I'm only referring to the wound I got on my hand that I superglued shut.  It keeps oozing around the edges.  Kind of annoying, really. Today is all about the games.  A friend ...

Not in the face!

My boss put a screwdriver through his hand yesterday.  It was an accident, and now he can't work for a while.  Also, Frogdboy (not his real name, but his gamertag on XBL) and I just pounded ...

18 inches of safety!

This is just a continuation of the last one, so no major life changes.  Sorry. Ah, fighter practice.  A place where love and violence are not encouraged, but required.  There was a tour...

High wind advisory

Job satisfaction is at a low.  WAY low.  But thats ok, because it usually is inversely proportional to the quality of my life outside of work.  My life is currently f'ing fantastic...

Road rage and capitalism

I was driving a Ford F-250 back to a dealership when some jerk cut me off.  This is standard fare for me, so I slowed down, and this guy gave me the finger and pulled into a parking lot.  'W...

MPD? not me!

It started as a joke.  I'm kind of a jerk sometimes, but anytime people are referring to me as Kelsus I can be a decent human being.  I can be kind, helpful, and compassionate.  The jok...
