About Me

By joining the Peace Corps right after graduating from GW in 2005,I am seeing how long I can go without earning an actual paycheck while at the same time saving the world. Entonces...in May 2005 I was off to Ecuador. It was hard to leave my family and friends behind, but what’s 2 years when you have such wonderful people supporting you? I live in a small afro-Ecuadorian town in the northwest costal province of Esmeraldas. I spend a significant amount of time every day moving water from one bucket to another, and when I’m not doing that I work in a free health clinic, with a community bank group, teach English, do craft projects with kids, and I am working ..ing a computer center. Ecuador is an astonishingly beautiful country and I hope to see a lot of it in my 2 years of PC service. I have had the great pleasure of meeting lots of amazing, crazy, and fun volunteers who have become good friends and we never pass up the opportunity to partake in some Pilsener (the ecua national beer) when we get together. I have 2 months to go, and who knows where the wind will take me after that…
