About Me

Alan "Jax" Bowers, drummer/percussionist/producer and owner of Mudcut Productions (www.mudcut.com) recording studio and production company.Alan has been playing drums since the age of ten. Now Thirty-three years old, his love for creating music is stronger than ever. He has studied with great players Karl Latham (Fantasy Band), Leo LeBarge, Frank Katz (Brand-X), and the staff at Drummers Collective in New York City.Aside from being a songwriter and producer, Alan has worked with many artists in a multitude of sessions playing drum kit, percussion, and playing/programming loops. "I always strive to be as musical as I can, to listen to everything, to play the song, not just the drums."Over the last few years Alan has been playing with his friends from Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band and Club Trini, Mac McAnally, Michael Utley, Robert Greenidge, Jim Mayer, Doyle Grisham, Tom Mitchel, Greg "Fingers" Taylor, and Tina Gullickson.Alan has been playing live with Broadway guitar monster Chris Delis. MC is heading to Nashville to record a cd with famed producer Shane Kiester.Alan's old friend Denny Tilton just released his new cd, Long Way Home. He did several of the drum and percussion tracks on it and some of the production at Mudcut. Check it and denny out at www.dennytilton.com.Come the fall pending the Gulf Coast Florida move of the self, family, and recording studio, Jax will be drumming for trop-rock guru Jack Mosley.Alan is also doing some fill-in work with Stars Productions Urban Trip (www.urbantripband.com).Alan spent the last two years playing all over the country with singer-songwriter John Frinzi. The former Frinzi band just returned from Key West after the 2005 Meeting of the Minds.In 2004, Alan was gigging, writing, and recording with Sidewards recording artists Swampadelica (www.swampadelica.com), a New Jersey based jam band.From 2000 to 2004, Alan was touring with Parrotville, now Parrotbeach (www.parrotbeach.com).
