My name is Cory Caston, but in the music industry most people call me Cory Cash. I'm a 22 year old Baton Rouge native who has been pursuing a career in the Rap & Hip-Hop music industry for the past 3 years.I began my musical journey alongside two other taleneted artists, Focussed & Speak E-Z. Under Enlightening Music Productions, The three of us formed the group "3 Brothers." We recorded our first album "Tru Colors" in our studio in Gonzales throughout the year of 2005. However, before the release date of the album, the group separated as Speak E-Z decided to take a different path than Focussed & me. He decided to turn his life from the negative influences of the street life and towards Jesus Christ. He is currently pursuing his music through Christian Rap. The "Tru Colors" album is still unreleased.
Focussed & I immediately began working on our next project. With the help of Lil Witness of Shifted Ent., Trap Shyne of Da Streetz, King, & One-I of STS Records, we completely the album "Destroy & Rebuild, The Aftereffect," including the hit track "Haterproof." The entire project was recording in STS Studios in Hammond, La. The CD was released in local Baton Rouge & Gonzales stores in November 2006. The two of us performed live at concerts in Baton Rouge, Gonzales, & Donaldsonville during 2006. We had began preparing for our next group project and solo albums to release during 2007.
With several differences tearing us apart, Focussed & I decided to go separate ways while we pursued our dream in the Rap game. He began working alongside local artist D-Matic and performed in Gonzales on New Years 2008 opening for Young Bleed. Be on the lookout for his solo album "Lyrical Therapy" coming soon. After departing Enlightening Music Productions, I began working as a solo artist in search of a new label. during this time, I recorded a 60-second radio commercial along with One-I for Custom Concepts in Gonzales. The commercial got spins on the local stations for around 3 weeks. Then, in May 2007, I began speaking to Michael Richardson a.k.a. P3X about joining his independent label Da Undaground Authority. During a trial period to see if the label was the right move, local artists Casper, Drewzy, C. Nelson, & Ambition assisted P3X & I in completing Da Undaground Authority's first mixtape in the "Undaground Railroad" series entitled "Mutual Hussle." We performed live in Gonzales at Daiquiris & Company in September 2007 along with Young Ready of Camp Life Ent. and other local artists. Shortly after the concert, the group began drifting apart, as Drewzy began focusing on his own group in Laplace, Ambition & P3X began focusing on the job force, C. Nelson began focusing on his group in New Orleans, & Casper & I began focusing on our solo material.
