Different Reasons

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator
Different Reasons were originally a performing Duo on the acoustic music scene in the south of England. The duo comprised of it's founder Michael Hill, and Julian Crosswell.
The original format was Mike on guitar and Julian on Bass, but after some time this evolved into two guitars to expand the sound they created melodically.
After exploring the open-mic scene between Windsor, Reading and Oxford, the duo were keen to expand into a band, but had many problems finding a reliable drummer. For recorded work, (which both Michael and Julian were keen to explore), they worked with local drummer Andy Crook (who was in J.L.B in the 90's, a band Mike had also played in.) For variety in the songs the duo also collaberated with a singer called Emma Johnson.
This format worked well, and it was due to be expanded into a band, but Julian by that time had other commitments playing Bass in a rock band, and so nothing more came of it......
Different Reasons continued there on as a duo and focused on songwriting, regularly recording and sending their efforts to publishers in the hope that somebody would see through any production flaws and hear the quality songs!
Different reasons stopped performing as a duo in december 08, after three and a half years together; but the songs live on here, and are available to publishers and any artistes that could use them, (subject to talks).
Michael Hill continues to write and record, and can be seen live at local venues from time to time (see here for details). Currently Michael is working with Tinhut music.
Mike also does a certain amount of promotional work for touring artistes, using a mixture of contacts from his own live work and media exposure. Take a look at the blog to see who he is currently working with......
