BEFORE ANYTHING JUST TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW THIS PROFILE IS RUN BY ME ....THE BIG BIG FAN OF THIS BAND..AND FROM ALL MY LOVE TO THEIR MUSIC AND THEM I DECIDED TO MAKE IT!HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY !
The Land which was the ruler of the new music directoion (gothic ,dark wave ) was surely Germany...In the year 1993 came on the earth the band whose work will stay trough the centuries in the historical book of the dark scene of Germany and the world as well (SCHWARZE SZENE ).DREADFUL SHADOWS! The band was formed by Sven Friedrich ,Reiko Jeschke,Ron THiele,Jens Riediger and Frank Hofer.It was the first crew .In Sepmtember the same year the band signed the contract with the lebel "SOund of delight".Their first album was released in autumn 1993 ,called "Estrangment".1994 year was the year of concerts ,festivals and dreadful shows where the band showed his delight!At the end of 1994 and beginning of 1995 Dreadful SHadows realesed the new album "HOmeless" and the shirt E.P for the same album.After that album the band meets the greatest bands and also their influences liek Type o Negative,Paradise Lost ,Lacrimosa etc.They also did the Zillo Fetsival,Mise noir Festival in MAdrid .The new year brought the new member in the band and also the new record lebel .The Nuclear Blast was the new record lebel,in the same time Stephen Neubauer and Frank Hofer left the band..The new guitar player was Andre Feller and later on at the beginning of the new album "Buried Again" 1996 Norman Selbeg filled out the empty place .From this year the band members saved their status till the END."Buried Again" was realed in 1996 and ment as one of the best album of Dreadful Shadows .SUmmer 1997 producted the new album called "Beyond the maze ".This album includes the live bonus as well.The first single was "Burning the shrouds"which was very good recieved from the public .In the beginning of the 1998 they were Headliner of the WGT Festival in Leipzig, Zillo Rock Fetsival .In the 1998 they did the cover for the song "Twist in my sobriety " of the Tanita Tikaram.The song was more then good done and it intorduced the new era called "Cycle".The first video was the "Futility" recorded in Kiev .The album was finally released in 1999.The album followed big Festivals around Europe .In the 2000 ,exactly in august the band split up!The last "Presents" were the "Estrangment " and "Homelss" in one didgital pack and the bigg cry out tour "The last tour " in October 2000.After that Sven Friedrich and Norman Selbeg created a new great band "Zeraphine". "Dear fans, friends & enemies ! After a long time of thinking about it we, Dreadful Shadows, have decided to end up this period in our lives as members of this band. You can really believe, that this was not easy for us. After six wonderful and intensiv years we've reached a point from which we can't go ahead in an artistic matter. We have experienced a lot and the last years are for sure the best time of our lives so far. But to keep this feeling we have commited to this step at the top of our band histrory. But, our way continues. Sven and Norman will form a new band called Zeraphine and Jens has built up a record label (Andromeda Records) and plays in a new band called Thanateros. So DREADFUL SHADOWS will not disappear, the basic idea and intention will be always part of all of our future projects.
