Its about time I said something for myself here, most people would begin at the beginning but ive tried so much stuff that’s not come off or just not been my thing, probly best to stick with the here and now…
i studied music at school/college & uni as a guitarist, now play for a living as a percussionist/ guitarist / producer, not always in that order... play percussion mostly for House nights, Funkydory, Galaxy, Moko lounge, Electrik Circus.
I play both with sticks and hands, I use a fairly big kit, everyones always on about it being too big but fuck it, no half mearures eh?!
Having got into the percussion thing via a 3 year residency at Lucorum (barnsley), I guess I have some pretty big thankyous to give to john whitworth & andy markwell (aka dj watermelon), (aka dj benaton).Since Lucorum ive played a number of clubs/events across the uk including Hed Kandi, Nubreed (Galaxy radio), Federation (leeds/ manchester/ newcastle) Uni Challenge, Miss Moneypennys, Fuel, Glasshouse @ Mission, Ultima, Love Leeds, Spin @ studi bakers (birmingham), The Leadmill, Townhouse(leeds), Warehouse(leeds), Retro, Opium (manchester/ milton keynes), oceana (wolverhampton), Candi (chester), Citrus Rooms (barnsley) Guildford Student Union, The Priory (doncaster), Rooder (skipton), The Tube (halifax), Revolution (bradford), Powerhouse (newcastle), Pacha @ The Loft, Xsite (Xscape), Tiger Tiger (leeds), Fibre-(including Courtyard Parties), Takapuna (sheffield), Attic (hull), Homo @ Mission, The Cotton Factory (huddersfield). Cant remember anymore...appologies if ive missed any!Have featured on several tracks with Reza (DTPM/STONEYBOY)- Soul execution, I am Eternal, There is Power, Live again.
Currently working on a variety of tracks ranging from techhouse right through to breakbeat.Spend a fair amount of time out on the bike(road) (gotta stay fit!)used to race but dont get time now.
The main focus at the moment is Electrik Circus, with resident dj Chris Special hitting it big its a good-looking night, always looking for ways to expand- ibiza calling... maybe summer 09?
